Open Saturdays are the retail hours to stroll all four floors of the 102 year old former seed warehouse, now home to over 300 artists and creatives. Open Studios, Special Events and Gallery Openings all under one Enormous Roof!
Not all artists or studios will be open during extended Northrup King Building hours, per their discretion. We encourage you to contact the artist or studio you wish to visit to ensure they will be open. Masks are required throughout the building.
We do not have air conditioning in our studio, please make an appointment as we will not be open for the months of June, July and August.
Northrup King Nights
Those who know, know: Northrup King Nights is a festive evening powered by the creativity of our artistic community! It may happen only three times a year, but each night is an unforgettable experience!
Immerse yourself in a world of creativity at our Art with Heart Showcase. Featuring works from talented local artists, this event offers a unique opportunity to purchase art while contributing to our mission.

Please join us for this free art exhibition and sale at the North Oaks Golf Club (54 East Oaks Rd, North Oaks), featuring a diverse collection of work by talented and well-known artists throughout Minnesota. A portion of all art sale proceeds will directly support Children’s Cancer Research at Children’s Minnesota.
In addition to the exhibition, the event includes a special silent auction with a meaningful and creative twist. Participating artists are invited to create an original piece inspired by artwork made by a child receiving care at Children’s Minnesota. Each artist’s inspired work will be displayed alongside the child’s original artwork, and the paired pieces will be auctioned together—celebrating creativity, connection, and the powerful stories behind each work. Proceeds from the silent auction will directly benefit Children’s Minnesota.
Lisa Fertig
Lisa Fertig grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, where her love of nature and the changing seasons first took root. She studied at the American Academy of Art, with additional training at the University of Minnesota and Atelier Lack. Working in watercolor and acrylic, she creates landscapes, still lifes, and abstracts. Her award-winning work is exhibited in galleries throughout Minnesota.

2026 IS THE 32nd YEAR OF ART-A-WHIRL!
The largest open artist studio tour in the country, Art-A-Whirl happens annually throughout Northeast Minneapolis the third weekend of May.
Over 1,600 NEMAA member artists, galleries, and businesses participate across all of Northeast Minneapolis at 100+ locations. Art-A-Whirl is a fantastic way to connect with artists in their own spaces, enjoy demonstrations and interactive activities, listen to live music, and enjoy local restaurants and breweries. Art-A-Whirl is free and open to the public.
Art Attack! 2026
Are you ready for an Art Attack? The Northrup King Building's highly anticipated fall open studio event showcases four floors of amazing art and gifts that will attack all your senses – in a good way! Meet the artists, find a unique treasure, get your shopping done, or try your hand at an interactive art activity – all featured at our beautiful and historic arts building. Three days full of fun, color and inspiration! Rawr, it's Art Attack!
